  1. Overview

The magnetostrictive sensor is developed by applying “magnetostrictive” technology. It is widely used in liquid level and displacement measurement systems that require high measurement accuracy and reliable measurement. It has the characteristics of high accuracy, high resolution, good repeatability, stability and reliability, non-contact measurement, long life, easy installation, and strong environmental adaptability. Its output signal is a true absolute position output, not a proportional signal or a signal that needs to be re-amplified, so there is no signal drift or value change, so it does not need to be re-calibrated and re-calibrated regularly like other liquid level and displacement sensors. Maintenance; it is precisely because its output signal is an absolute value, so even if the power is interrupted and reconnected, it will not cause a problem in data reception, and there is no need to reset to zero. It can be widely used in the measurement and control of the liquid level and mechanical displacement of various liquid tanks in petroleum, chemical, electric power, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, engineering machinery and other industries.

  1. Working principle

The working principle of the magnetostrictive liquid level and displacement sensor is shown in the picture. The product is mainly composed of a measuring rod, an electronic warehouse, and a non-contact floating ball or magnetic ring (with a magnet inside) that is sleeved on the measuring rod. A magnetostrictive tube (wave guide) is installed in the measuring rod, which is made of non-magnetic stainless steel tube, which reliably protects the wave guide. During operation, an initial pulse is generated by the electronic circuit in the electronic warehouse. When this initial pulse is transmitted in the waveguide, a rotating magnetic field that advances in the direction of the waveguide is generated at the same time. When this magnetic field meets the permanent magnetic field in the magnetic ring , Produces a magnetostrictive effect, which causes the waveguide to twist. This twist is sensed by the pickup mechanism installed in the electronic warehouse and converted into a corresponding current pulse. The electronic circuit calculates the time difference between the two pulses. , You can accurately measure the liquid level height or mechanical displacement of the measured medium.

Installation method with accessories:

For sensors with a measuring range less than 1000mm, it is recommended to use L1 mounting accessories; for sensors greater than 1000mm, it is recommended to use L2

Install accessories.

①. Clamp the sensor with the sensor bracket, and fix the bracket on the thread of the sensor with a lock nut.

② Fix the split magnetic ring on the magnetic ring bracket with two lock washers #6 and two special screws M3×12. When the magnetic ring is installed on the measuring rod, the screw head should face the side of the hexagonal base; The ring should be as concentric with the measuring rod as possible without contact, but the magnetic ring is slightly

Eccentricity will not affect the performance of the sensor.

③. Tightly wrap the fixing plate around the end of the measuring rod and fix it with two M3×8 screws and two M3 nuts.

Note: L1 mounting assembly only provides a fixed slat, which is fixed within 50mm from the end of the measuring rod; L2 mounting

The module has three fixed slats, the installation method is: one fixed within about 25mm from the end, the other two

Installation method without accessory components

①. For the installation method of the hydraulic cylinder as shown in the figure, screw the sensor into the M18×1.5 mounting hole, and pay attention to the tightness of the “O” ring

The cover should be processed as shown in the figure.

② According to the position of the magnetic ring, drill two or four M3 threaded holes on the self-made mounting plate, and use special screws for the magnetic ring

M3×12 and special gasket #6 are fixed.

③. Insert the magnetic ring and the mounting plate into the measuring rod, with the screw head facing the hexagonal base side of the sensor; the magnetic ring should be as concentric with the measuring rod as possible, but the magnetic ring is offset

The heart has no influence on the measurement accuracy. For sensors with a measuring range less than 500mm, they must be fixed within 50mm from the end to reduce vibration Impact.
